Joe Donnini, Esq. saw the market for legal services continuing to change back in 2011. He was practicing law full time at his own firm, which he still operates, and was teaching full time as a Visiting Professor of Law. Joe experienced that students needed much more practical training in order to be successful in meeting client expectations. Additionally, the market seemed to leave a lot of clients out, not just because of cost, but also because of access. As result, it appeared that both education of lawyers and delivery of legal services needed some major adjustment.

After spending time researching and evaluating both of these areas, Joe realized that his background in franchising, with the very established RE/MAX brand, could be effectively utilized in the legal industry. It seemed there was a market for legal services for consumers and small businesses that either wasn’t being met or wasn’t being met effectively. That’s when the beginnings of Legal Value Firm® took shape. Throughout 2013, the plans were in motion. That same year implementation began, resulting in Legal Value Firm® in Torrance opening on January 27, 2014.

Joe has been a licensed California attorney for over 20 years, has grown successful law practices from the ground up, consulted on various issues for emerging and mature companies in multiple industries, and taught as a law professor for just under a decade. His focus now is upon giving clients’ the legal and customer service they want in neighborhood law firms through franchising. By focusing on this client-centric model, lawyers can be educated, empowered, and positioned for possible success with Legal Value Firm®.


Blake Slater, Esq. joined Legal Value Firm® right from the beginning. As the first full time employee, Blake saw the potential for a different type of law firm and has been instrumental in helping it grow. Blake came with experience only in a focused practice area; however, it didn’t take long for Blake to expand his knowledge base within the Legal Value Firm® client service, marketing procedures and practice areas.

As someone committed to Legal Value Firm® and helping clients and attorneys obtain results, Blake focuses upon training and operational issues at Legal Value Franchise, Inc. Blake has a wide array of skills sets that prospective franchisees can rely upon in their pre-opening, opening, and continued operation of their Legal Value Firm®.

Blake earned his license almost 6 years ago in California and represented clients in over 200 social security disability hearings with a national firm all over the country before joining Legal Value Firm®. His focus now is zealously advocating for each and every Legal Value Firm® client with a sincere concern to provide quality and transparent representation. As the franchise program for Legal Value Firm® continues to evolve, Blake will continue to provide insight and support to show lawyers the Legal Value Firm® way that is aimed at changing the delivery of legal services.
